Welcome To The Honest Close Blog

Welcome to The Honest Close!

I figured there’s no better way to kick this thing off than by introducing myself, my book, and the whole reason this blog exists.

Now, let’s get the obvious questions out of the way:

  • Is this just for fun?

  • Is it an ego trip?

  • Do I just like the sound of my own voice?

I mean… the amount I talk would certainly make you think so! But in fact, no — this isn’t about me hearing myself ramble. This is about giving tradesmen something we’ve all been missing: a sales framework that actually works in the field.

Who I Am

My name’s Will. I started out with a wrench in my hand, working alongside the Amish in new construction plumbing. Back then, I didn’t need sales skills — just a strong back and a willingness to learn.

A few years later, I stepped into service work, and suddenly sales landed on my lap. My company handed us scripts and Grant Cardone videos and basically said, “Good luck.” Problem was, customers hated it. Techs hated it. And honestly, I started to think sales was just another word for lying.

Spoiler alert: it’s not.

Over time, I built my own way of selling — one built on honesty, trust, and simply walking customers through their options. And it worked.

The Results

Most “gurus” brag about theory. I’ll just show you the numbers:

Metric

Industry Average

My Results

Average Ticket

$350–$600

$7,600–$8,000

Close Rate

30–40%

80%+

Those numbers place me among the top 1% of salesmen in the trades across the country — proof that selling with honesty not only works, it works better.

The Book & The Framework

That’s why I wrote The Honest Close. It’s built around my 7-step framework called SERVICE. It’s simple, it’s real, and it’s designed for tradesmen — plumbers, HVAC techs, electricians, contractors, you name it. Not cooked up in some boardroom. Built in crawlspaces, basements, and kitchen tables.

What to Expect Here

This blog is where I’ll share the stuff that doesn’t always make it into a book:

  • Sales tips you can try tomorrow.

  • Funny and painful stories from the field (because we’ve all got them).

  • Quotes and lessons that keep you sharp.

And yeah, I’ll hint at what’s coming down the road — from personal training to group coaching. But for now, it’s about giving you value you can actually use.

Why This Exists

Because sales in the trades shouldn’t make you feel like a used car lot reject. It shouldn’t feel shady. And it shouldn’t be complicated. It’s about serving people, being honest, and building a career you can be proud of.

So buckle up — this is just the beginning. Thanks for stopping by, and welcome to The Honest Close.
